Ford Owners Get Access to Tesla Superchargers

Prieto Automotive is excited to announce a groundbreaking development for our valued Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E customers – you can now access Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada! This makes Ford the first non-Tesla automaker to offer this convenience to its EV drivers.

We understand that access to charging stations is a significant concern for many considering electric vehicles. That’s why we’re proud to provide our customers with more options, helping to overcome this barrier. According to a recent Cox Automotive Consumer Sentiment Study, the availability of charging stations ranks as the second most significant concern after price when it comes to EV purchases. As prices for EVs continue to decrease, ensuring access to reliable fast charging becomes even more crucial in encouraging more customers to make the switch to electric.

With over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers now available, Ford has effectively doubled the accessibility of reliable DC fast charging through its BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network. To show its gratitude to Ford EV customers, they are offering the Fast Charging Adapter at no cost to both new and existing customers enrolled in the BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network until June 30, 2024. This adapter is essential for charging at upgraded Tesla Superchargers and represents Ford’s commitment to providing seamless charging experiences for all its EV drivers.

Retail customers have the exclusive opportunity to order their complimentary adapter before June 30, 2024. After this date, Future Ford EV owners can purchase the adapter from Ford for $230, including estimated tax and shipping. For our Ford Pro commercial customers, stay tuned! You’ll receive communication this Spring via mail or through your Ford Pro account manager to facilitate ordering your adapter.

The BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network simplifies the charging process with a seamless stored payment account accessible through the FordPass App or the Charge Assist App (soon to be “Public Charge”) directly from your vehicle’s touchscreen. No more fumbling for credit cards at charging stations. Once you’ve set up your account and activated Plug & Charge, Tesla Superchargers will seamlessly support Plug & Charge with Ford EVs. This means all you have to do is plug in, and charging will automatically commence, managed conveniently through FordPass.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to introduce next-generation electric vehicles equipped with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector built-in, eliminating the need for an adapter to access Tesla Superchargers. At Prieto Automotive, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation, providing our customers with the best possible driving experiences.
